Definition of Intelligent Surface

Intelligent Surface is an interactive interface that combines decoration, control and display functions.This solution is enabled by integrated IML (In-mold Labeling) processes, such as IML+Touch Sensor, IMC and IME. It has gradually replaced traditional physical buttons in vehicles, forming a minimalist touch decorative panel with integrated multiple functions.

Intelligent Surfaces: Decoration, Structure and Function
Decoration: It can present a variety of finishes such as high-gloss mirror, wood grain, metallic effects, leather and fabric. It also supports visual effects like hidden backlight and dynamic light shadow.The overall design of the intelligent interior surface is fully tailored to the vehicle’s design concept.
Structure: It offers excellent scratch resistance and chemical corrosion resistance, and enables large-dimension 3D curved forming and custom-shaped structures.
Function: It integrates touch control, high-definition display, pressure sensing, and vibration feedback functions.

II. IML+Touch Sensor, IMC, IME

IML+Touch Sensor

The exterior parts adopt the IML (In-mold Labeling) process, with the backside lamination of the circuit film to enable touch functionality.

IMC (In-Mold Circuit)

The IMC process uses screen printing to apply conductive circuits, then proceeds with 3D high-pressure forming and injection molding. The touch layer sits between the IML film and the injection molded layer.

IME (In-Mold Electronics)

IME process is a comprehensive intelligent surface process that combines circuit printing, component mounting, forming, cutting and injection molding.
