With the rapid development of intelligent cockpits, car interiors are no longer limited to traditional mechanical buttons and rigid panels. Designs with no physical buttons, curved integrated panels, hidden touch interactions and synced ambient lighting have become mainstream for premium car interiors. As a key carrier for HMI (Human-Machine Interface) applications, automotive smart surfaces combine decorative aesthetics, responsive touch sensing, intelligent interaction and long-lasting durability, creating a brand-new human-machine interaction experience.
Intelligent Surface is an interactive interface that combines decoration, control and display functions.This solution is enabled by integrated IML (In-mold Labeling) processes, such as IML+Touch Sensor, IMC and IME. It has gradually replaced traditional physical buttons in vehicles, forming a minimalist touch decorative panel with integrated multiple functions.
The exterior parts adopt the IML (In-mold Labeling) process, with the backside lamination of the circuit film to enable touch functionality.
The IMC process uses screen printing to apply conductive circuits, then proceeds with 3D high-pressure forming and injection molding. The touch layer sits between the IML film and the injection molded layer.
IME process is a comprehensive intelligent surface process that combines circuit printing, component mounting, forming, cutting and injection molding.
